Bar regulations may lay out which forms of client data may be accessed by AI tools, whether the firm must publicize that it is using AI, and whether the time gains enabled by AI usage must be taken into account when billing clients, in addition to other stipulations. These regulations are to be treated as official firm policy and take precedent if in conflict with the firm’s AI policy.
